Casey and Nat - East Burke, VT |

N early a month after their wedding date, I am putting up Casey & Nat's "preview" on here... just a few days before their entire gallery is ready. Oh, blogging, how I have missed you! I also already miss shooting, but then I wake up in my bed and realize that it takes both arms to get me up.... so, I should say first, I miss my ab muscles and the ability to touch (or see) my toes, second, I miss shooting, and third, I miss blogging those shoots. But, all is well, my friends... I will be shooting again before you know it, and meanwhile, we just got our first "REAL" baby gift yesterday (ie not something that could be used for a baby doll)- a swing from Babies R Us from Chris' Aunt and Uncle. I put that sucker together in no time flat, and now we have a solid reminder (other than my hyper active belly) that another life is moving into our house soon!
Tangent much? Anyway... Casey and Nat! They have been extremely patient since their cold wedding day on October 18 in East Burke, Vermont. So, in hopes of making up for the delay, I have lots of goodies to share with you! Happy viewing!
love love love their invitation, done by Ephemera Custom Letterpress. Extremely reasonable prices and fabulous designs for those 2009 brides looking for invitation options!
I absolutely love this getting ready shot. For the record, I think someone did help me up after I took this, but it was worth it!
Beautiful Casey! Our last 2008 bride...
Love this action shot... getting a bride into a limo is a group effort.
Chris grabbed this shot of Casey and her dad right before they walk down the aisle. Love it!
My shot, when they reached the other end. Look at this and tell me it doesn't hit a soft spot in your heart!
"We did it!!"
Casey and Nat scouted out this beautiful little chapel to do their group shots since their church was not their ideal spot. It was perfect! (and cold!)
I really loved all the spots around the chapel... sweet moment in cool arches number 1.
sweet moment in cool arches number 2.
Chris' angel in the door. Loving the lines.
Another one of Chris' shots... he does headless work, too!
Loved all the different spots around the chapel.
Their flowers were unbelievable! I prefer to avoid ring-in-the-flowers shots because it is a little "too easy" and popular, but I could not resist with her flowers since they had such unique patterns and textures.
Yep, could've taken ring-in-the-flowers shots all day long. love this!
Sweet first dance... I had a hard time narrowing these down to just 2. Casey and Nat are just so dang sweet and fun with each other!
Love how dramatic this first dance shot is... notice all the guests are in focus? I love that they are intently watching...
Congratulations Casey & Nat! And, thanks again for your patience!

F irst, the news... we have extended our holiday deadline through next Sunday, November 16... simply because we know people procrastinate and then miss deadlines. So, there it is. The deals are off, but the deadline is extended. BUT, don't be too sad about the deals being over... at least for prints... because I don't think you all are aware that once you put 2 of the same print in your cart, you get 35% off all identical prints. For example, if you order one 5x7, it will be $21, but if you order two (same image) 5x7s, your total for those two is only $27.30... if you go and order 3 of the same 5x7s, your total is $40.95 (which is NOT EVEN the cost of 2 5x7s at retail). Anyway, thought you should all be aware of that quantity discount. We also offer packages of prints and huge bulk discounts (for things like holiday cards). So... Take advantage of these deals that are offered 24/7/365!
Second... the blues. I have been in denial and not wanted to talk about this, even to my dearest of friends- since talking about it makes it REAL. But, I am moving out of my studio space at the end of the year. AND... the landlord just put up a BIG FAT "for rent" sign in my precious window. I could cry. (being pregnant, i am not sure if that statement is a joke or a reality yet). Anyway, we are still in business!! We just don't want the overhead of the studio space anymore since I am going to cut back next year (from 24 to no more than 14 weddings) with the baby and move my office into our house so that I can work from home. It will be a VERY sad day when I move out, but I know it is the smartest thing for the business and for us personally. On a similar note, since I am not moving into another studio space until I can buy the building, I am selling just about all the furnishings to the highest bidder! Soo... let me know if you are interested in anything. |

Johanna and Eric - Day After! |

O h man! I went a little overboard with my favorites for this session! Since Johanna & Eric had their indoor ceremony at sunset, it limited our abilities to get the kind of fall foliage shots that they really wanted to have, and since they did not want to see each other before the ceremony, well, let's just say that we all got excited at the idea of a Day After session with them!
Normally, on any given wedding day, we usually get anywhere from 5-20 minutes alone with our couples- even if they allot a whole half hour for us... There is just so much excitement on the day of that it is hard for the bride and groom NOT to want to rush through the time with us so that they can get onto their guests. And, of course, this is understandable. But, that really limits us. Soo... To have a full hour with no restrictions on time or location was just heaven... and this couple was SO fun and ridiculously good-looking, it was all just icing on the cake. I hope our 2009 couples love this idea as much as I do because I definitely want to do more of these! Happy viewing!
the light was perfect the day after their wedding... perfect fall day in Saratoga!
I love this one through the trees... soft and sweet.
This was Eric's idea... sure was. haha!
I love the spot reflection (courtesy of Kristin) on this one!
Did I mention that I was laughing through this whole session, pretty much?
Loving the sweet moment in the grass.
Yep, "ridiculously good-looking" pretty much sums these two up!
I just love the way Eric looks at Johanna... like she is the only woman in the world!
Another one of Eric's ideas (or was it Johanna's?)... It probably sends the wrong message, but it is only funny because I know that they don't actually view marriage this way. haha!
Still love these two from the initial preview...
I love the red leaves in the background...
So... I mentioned I went overboard... Every time I look at my 30-something favorite images, I have a new favorite 10 for the blog. So, instead of leaving out all the other 20 images, I made a lil slideshow... Enjoy!
**To clients and friends: Don't forget about the promos that are still running through November 11- also don't forget to mention the word "BLOG" in the notes section. If you don't mention it or immediately email us and request the deal, it will not be applied to your order. So, be sure to do it! ;-)
P.P.S. Politics are about like religion, actually probably worse, so I can bite my tongue on my personal views... BUT... I think we all have to admit that this is a very exciting time in the history of our country! |
