S orry, I have gone missing... again. If you are on Facebook, you may know why, but otherwise, you are probably in the dark. So, here is the update... My doctor has asked me to work as little as possible from now (actually a few weeks ago) until the baby comes. Both myself and the baby are fine, but there is a little concern that I may be under too much stress. So... my work schedule is very sparse these days and completely unpredictable since I am just listening to my body and when I need to rest. In the meantime, we are moving out of the studio space (this is our last week working in there)... so sad, but so needed. It will be much easier for me to work from home, and fortunately, Kristin is my neighbor... so, although we will REALLY miss sharing our small lil room of an office, we will still be close enough to work it out. She will be the main contact person from January through March (info at rae barnes dot com).
By the way... Our studio furniture is still for sale and will be on Craigslist in the next few weeks for anyone looking for a sofa, some accent chairs, or some end tables, etc. More updates coming! We do have something VERY exciting in the works... we were hoping to have it up and running by now, but since everything is moving in slow motion for me, it may be another week or two or more. Thanks to everyone for your amazing patience and understanding during this time. |

My Maternity Photos, courtesy of my love |

N ow that I am over 34 weeks pregnant (ie. almost 8 months), I thought that it would be the perfect time for Chris to do my maternity portraits. After much internal debate on location, I decided I wanted to just do it at our house... in the backyard, next-to the garage and inside. Of course, we were almost 2 weeks too late to beat the swelling, so I could not have my beautiful rings on my finger, which made me sad. I think I am a little over it... maybe. I may just be buying a big fake one this week. haha! Anyway, I think Chris did an amazing job with me! He's such a stud. And we are very excited for this lil girl to come... so, have yourself some happy viewing!
even though this isn't super sharp or exposed picture perfect (it was one of the very first as Chris was setting the exposure), I really love it!
umm... I couldn't stand much more than 2 minutes in those heals. :-)
I get this random ideas in my head that sometimes work out... i like it.
I didn't know Chris was taking this shot. I think I was being majorly kicked, on top of not being comfortable kneeling. Whatever was happening, this shot makes me laugh. Hey, maybe I was practicing my breathing! haha!
I really love this shot. We have so much yummy natural light in our house. I love it! (Of course, now that we are getting close to the shortest day of the year, we only get about 7-8 hours of daylight).
I don't really love this shot of me (mostly because it really reveals that I need to address my roots), but I think it is a good one to show my grandma and mom just how big my belly is!
Just chillin in the backyard by the garage like I always do when it is 15 degrees outside. ha!
Chris is good at making me laugh... even if he says the same thing over and over during the shoot. :-)
One of my faves... love the colors! (I WAS freezing, by the way)
Thanks so much, my love, for being so patient and cooperative with me during this shoot. (I'm a lil picky) I love what you did! And... I love you... a lot! Wanna have a baby together? haha!
Stay tuned for some pics of albums... Kristin is getting everything together to make some shipments, but we are sitting on about 8 albums. Whoa! |

My Beautiful Sister-in-law |

T o be fair, I have two beautiful sisters-in-law... one on each side (ie. one married to my oldest brother and then this one- Chris' sister). Chris' sister Brianna is graduating from high school in 2009, so naturally, I wanted to do her senior portraits... but it didn't work out to do it last spring... or this summer... or really in the pretty part of fall... sooooo, we thought we might try something over Thanksgiving. But, there is a pattern here... maybe it could be Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday... and then, it was Saturday, and we were leaving on Sunday. I still had a few of Chris' family members lingering around after my "surprise" baby shower at the Barnes household, but we were loosing daylight. It was now or never.
So, without giving Bri more time than just to run a brush through her hair, we bolted out the door with cousins in tow to grab some shots around her yard. I'm calling this her half session because we literally had about 20 minutes of light (and I only had about 20 minutes worth of energy)... so there will be more! When? I do not know... maybe Christmas... or maybe in the spring. We will see.
Anyway, without further ado... here are some of my faves of Chris' beautiful sister Brianna. Happy viewing!!
Bri is in a bush...
The sun was so low that we both had to lay down (yes, I was ON THE GROUND at 7+ months pregnant- haha!), but it was worth it.
This is my favorite smiley pic of Bri. Love the flare. It matches her personality. ;-)
Okay, I had to revisit the bush. I realize this may not be HER favorite for various reasons, but I really love this shot!! A lot. Totally could be America's Next Top Model!
Speaking of which... isn't she just so stunning?! This is in my top three. Really love it.
Just because her cousin Lauren told her to, Bri got up on the monkey bars. This will totally be your Facebook profile pic, I know it, Bri!
Alrighty, well, I hope you enjoyed! We are swimming in albums now... but this is the fun part... swimming in the ACTUAL albums (not the work part). So, there are pictures coming next week of all the fun albums we have coming in and going out. I love Christmas! |

Quebec City - Two Months Later |

O kay, it is getting ridiculous, I realize this... more than 2 weeks without a post is simply unacceptable (until I have a baby to blame it on, right?). I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving!! We have so much to be thankful for, and yes, if I were a good blogger, I would've blogged about all of those things... but I have not been. And, we were away to Chris' parents' place near Philadelphia, so I was trying not to do any "work" at all. We really had a great time, but I am glad to be home and resting up for this lil one (due in less than 7 weeks!). Anyway, so here is something I meant to post about... oh... two months ago.
Our third wedding anniversary was September 17. Since this was right before I entered my third trimester of pregnancy, it was the perfect time to take a trip... to Quebec City! It was our "babymoon" (if you will); our last trip alone... without a babysitter, that is. We had the best week away. And, we both absolutely adore Quebec City (and old Montreal). It really is like going to Europe without leaving the continent! So, here are a few pics we caught while there (sorry if you are a Facebook friend and have already seen these!).
My husband is such a stud. I can honestly say that the day we married was the day that I loved him the least in all our married days. I am so blessed to have Chris as my husband!
In case you didn't know, the first language up in Quebec City is French. Just about everyone speaks English also, and most places have an English menu or English subtitles on the menu... but, it is very French. And, we do not speak French. :-)
So, we had some fun with the self-timer and multiple shutters. We have about 30 images, but these next four are my favorites! Oh, to have a small "bump" again... ;-)
We didn't really do our research before we left, so we did a lot of exploring and founds lots of visually fun things (and the Aquarium- the seals speak French- no lie!).
This church was called Notre Dame, but I think they name a lot of churches that. :-D Someone told me that a scene from "Catch Me if You Can" was filmed on this street.
I can't believe that there have been more weeks between that trip and today than there are between today and our due date! Wow! Well, stay tuned because I plan to pick back up to posting at least twice a week for the next 7 weeks (or until this lil girl comes out).
